How the (LoFi) phonograph changed jazz, the blues (and everything else musical). Edison had no idea.

It’s hard to argue that the phonograph was one of the world’s great cultural inventions, allowing the rapid spread of entertainment -including early jazz- and information to the masses.  Join us at Sierra Traditional Jazz Club and the Potomac River Jazz Club for another in its popular free online Jazz Talks series via ZOOM featuring New Orleans author John McCusker.  Mark it on your calendar -Date/Time:  Monday, February 26 at 7 pm EASTERN TIME.    Among other items, you’ll hear some fascinating but obscure details of the early sound technology from John, an award-winning photojournalist and jazz expert. To participate, you must register on Eventbrite.com no later than 5 pm EASTERN TIME the night of the event.

You MUST REGISTER AT:   https://www.eventbrite.com/e/767927871937

Shortly before airtime, you’ll be sent a link to the free Zoom,

Note:  All of PRJC’s Jazz Talk events are free, but we welcome donations at registration to help defray production costs. You can contribute via Eventbrite or just tune in.
