Stephanie Trick & Paolo Aldereghi with Danny Coots and Steve Pikal

The Dixieland Jazz Club of Rossmoor presents

Stephanie Trick & Paolo Aldereghi

with Danny Coots and Steve Pikal

at the Event Center on

September 1, 2026

This Tuesday, September 1, the ever-popular Stephanie & Paolo will return to Rossmoor for their annual show, presented by the Dixieland Jazz Club of Rossmoor.

Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00. Dues are $20, payable at the door either in cash or by credit card.

This presentation is the third of the year-end extravaganza that your club is bringing to you. Our most requested returning bands will complete the season.

The piano duo comprises pianists Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi. Each is an accomplished pianist with a repertoire drawing mainly on the music of the first half of the 20th century.

·        Trick is best known for performing the work of stride pianists such as James P Johnson, Fats Waller, and Donald Lambert. She is also an experienced performer of ragtime and boogie- woogie standards.

·        Alderighi draws from a wide range of influences, including the music of the American theater and cinema, European jazz from the interwar years, and a range of musical styles from Italy, his home country. A particular love of his is the music and performances of pianist Errol Garner, and his portion of the show typically includes some of Garner’s music.

·

Trick and Alderighi also perform together on four-hand piano, playing a wide range of music that combines their specialties in many custom arrangements that Alderighi has spent the last decade developing.

For this concert, they will once again appear in their “double trio” mode, backed up by the rhythm section of the band Groovus: Steve Pikal on double bass and Danny Coots on drums. Sharing a single piano, Trick and Alderighi will play both together in four-hands style and separately with Coots and Pikal (hence the “double trio” designation) to showcase their distinct talents. The foursome played at Rossmoor last year, and Groovus played there earlier this year.

Stephanie & Paolo have appeared regularly at Rossmoor for well over a decade (as has Danny), with annual shows interrupted only by the COVID years. They have recorded over a dozen CDs, together and individually. Their discography includes the Double Trio Live 2015 (“green”) album, a recording of their Rossmoor concert in September of that year.

The rest of your club’s year will be terrific! Have a look:

·        On September 17, Don Neely will bring a scaled-down version of his prior Big Band, the Royal Society Jazz Orchestra to our stage

·        On October 21 , we will bring Bob Schultz’s favorite San Francisco Dixieland Band back to Rossmoor. Bob's band is about the closest thing alive today to that of Turk Murphy.

·        On November 19, Marc Caparone (of High Sierra Jazz Fame) will visit us with his trumpet extraordinaire and new band

· On December 21, we will enjoy the Rossmoor-favorite: “Thrown together Jazz Band” filled with the best Bay Area talent in our opinion.

You will want to mark your calendar to be here for all of these great bands
